Indianapolis Video production FAQs
Costs, timelines, process and everything else people ask before starting a project. If your question isn't here, just ask.
Costs & Pricing
Most commercial projects run between $2,500 and $20,000. A single-location product video or social package sits at the lower end; multi-day shoots, larger crews and campaign work run higher. Full campaigns can exceed $50,000.
How much does a commercial video cost in Indianapolis?
Four things: shoot days, crew size, locations, and how much post-production is involved. A one-day shoot at one location with a small crew is the cheapest version of almost any project. Travel, actors, motion graphics and multiple deliverables add to it.
What makes a video cost more or less?
No. Every project is quoted individually because the variables are too different between a product video and a three-day campaign shoot. You get a written quote with the scope fixed before anything starts, so the number doesn't move.
Do you offer fixed packages?
Most projects start around $2,500. If your budget is below that we'll say so honestly and point you somewhere more suitable rather than take work we can't do well.
Is there a minimum project size?
Yes. Monthly retainers suit companies that need a steady flow of content rather than one-off projects — typically a set number of shoot days or deliverables per month, at a lower rate than booking each separately.
Do you offer ongoing or retainer work?
Timeline & Scope
Most projects are delivered two to four weeks after the shoot. Simple social edits turn around faster. Multi-location shoots, documentary work and projects with several rounds of stakeholder review take longer. The timeline is agreed before production starts.
How long does video production take?
Two to four weeks' notice is comfortable for most projects — enough time for pre-production without rushing. We can move faster when needed. If you have a fixed launch or event date, tell us early and we'll say straight away whether it's realistic.
How far in advance should we book?
Usually, yes. Tell us the date in your first message rather than after scoping. If it's not achievable at the quality we'd want to put our name on, we'll say so upfront instead of missing it later.
Can you work to a hard deadline?
Most projects start around $2,500. If your budget is below that we'll say so honestly and point you somewhere more suitable rather than take work we can't do well.
How do you handle revisions?
Process
You'll hear back within one business day with initial thoughts on approach and rough cost. If it looks like a fit, we'll have a short call to pin down scope, then send a written quote. Nothing gets filmed before you've approved that.
What happens after I get in touch?
A clear sense of what the video is for and who it's aimed at. Beyond that: access to locations and people, someone empowered to approve decisions, and any brand guidelines or assets you want used. We handle the rest.
What do you need from us?
Yes, that's part of pre-production on most projects. If you already have a script, or an agency running creative, we're equally happy to just execute. Tell us which at the start.
Do you write the script and prepare the concept?
Yes. You'll see a first cut and can give notes before anything is finalised. We'd rather adjust at the rough stage than after colour and sound are locked.
Can we see it before it's finished?
Services
Yes, and it's how most projects start. Tell us the goal — a product launch, a hiring push, a trade show — and we'll recommend the format. Often the right answer isn't the one people first ask for.
We're not sure what type of video we need, can you help?
Usually. One shoot day can produce a hero film plus social cuts, testimonials and stills — but it has to be planned that way from the start, not decided afterwards. It's the cheapest way to get volume.
Can we get several videos from one shoot?
Yes. Editing, colour grading, captions and repurposing on footage you already have. Send us what you've got and what you need it to become.
Do you take editing-only work?
Yes, as part of a project or on its own.
Do you offer drone and aerial footage?
Delivery & ownership
Final files in whatever you need — horizontal for web and broadcast, vertical and square for social, plus captioned versions. Tell us where it's going and we'll deliver accordingly.
